Description:
The year is 1927, and as the champagne flows and the jazz plays, a shot splits the night…but who fired the shot that caused the demise of James Cosgrove? Enter a world of molls and gangsters, flappers and fellas, jazz bands, and gin joints. Stroll the mansion grounds and peek into the shadowy corners, led by your guide – who just happens to be the victim of a 100-year-old murder!
You will be tasked with inspecting the crime scene, gathering the clues, and questioning the suspects you meet along the way. And perhaps, just perhaps, you can stay one step ahead of a wily murderer, avoid a similar fate, and have a chance to solve a MURDER BY GASLIGHT: The Murder of James Cosgrove.

Age Restriction
All ages welcome. Children ages 14 and younger must be accompanied by an adult.
Cancellation Policy
Tickets purchased for Murder Mystery Walking Tours at Bolton Mansion are non-refundable. If you cannot attend your reserved date, please email events@boltonmansion.org at least 5 days prior to your reserved date to reschedule your reservation to a later show. Friends of Bolton Mansion reserves the right to cancel three (3) days prior to show dates. You will be given the option to reschedule to a later show date or be refunded the ticket cost in full.
Showtimes
Please arrive 15 minutes before your tour start time and meet on the front lawn in front of the veranda (porch) unless otherwise noted. Saturday tours: 6:00 PM and 7:00 PM.
Safety
The safety of guests and employees is of paramount concern. Bolton Mansion will adhere to all state and local safety requirements, including:
- asking guests and employees who feel ill to refrain from coming to Bolton Mansion
- limiting attendance to 20 people per tour
- encouraging at least six feet of space between areas occupied by separate parties
- ensuring actors remain at least six feet away from any guests while performing on a set stage area
- requiring guests to wear masks during the event, in accordance with state guidelines
Accessibility
Tours will traverse the grounds at Bolton Mansion. Please dress appropriately according to the weather and wear comfortable shoes.
